student wellbeing

We recognise that flourishing at university is determined as much by your wellbeing as it is by your academic ability: if you feel healthy and content within yourself and your environment, then you are far more likely to perform to the best of your academic ability.

At a time of significant change in your life, doing even the simplest of tasks or making what used to feel like straightforward decisions can suddenly feel overwhelming. Settling into university life is not turning out as you’d hoped or expected and you begin to wonder what is happening to you. Equally, at any point in your time at university an unexpected event like the break-up of a relationship or problems at home can throw you off track affecting your ability to concentrate on your studies.
